Project Summary
These Solar Collector Modules are made from color matched weatherable ABS, designed to withstand UV light and provide impact protection in harsh outdoor environments. As part of a precision assembly, this project required a high amount of detail and precision, and each module was created with extremely close tolerances.
The modules were molded over a male aluminum thermoform tool, and designed to nest to enable low-cost, high-volume shipping all over the world.
The rib details on the module’s sidewall are a design addition that provides additional strength and rigidity, allowing the modules to be produced from a lighter weight, lower-cost gauge of plastic without sacrificing strength.
